Job summary

The City of Avondale is seeking a Park Ranger in the Avondale Police Department. This non-sworn position focuses on protecting city parks, delivering friendly visitor service, and enforcing Parks & Recreation rules.

Duties include park patrols, incident reporting, and support for animal control. A high school diploma, AZ driver license, and basic training are required; bilingual ability is preferred and training/TOC may be completed within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as park ranger or related field.
• Valid Arizona Driver License required.
• TOC, DT, or similar training preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol City parks and trails by vehicle or on foot.
• Provide front-line customer service and enforce park rules.
• Report incidents and maintain logs of daily activity.
• Assist Animal Control as needed and support city events.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with Police/Fire as required.
