Job summary

City of Goodyear is seeking a Parks & Recreation Ranger to patrol the Goodyear Recreation Campus, deliver high-quality customer service, and enforce applicable rules and regulations. The role supports staff and ensures a safe, welcoming environment for visitors.

The ideal candidate will possess surveillance skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and be able to work in a fast-paced team setting. This is a part-time, temporary position with potential for varied hours and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in a related field is preferred.
• Valid driver's license, CPR certification, and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains effective public relations by communicating information and interpretation of rules and regulations, both orally and in writing.
• Keeps accurate records of patrol times and activities and prepares detailed reports such as daily logs and incident reports.
• Monitors events to ensure safety and appropriateness of activities and detect potentially hazardous situations; conducts safety checks.
• Anticipates and corrects problems or notifies appropriate personnel to ensure visitor safety; coordinates with Police/Fire in emergencies.
• Operates devices and uses departmental software to review patron history, camera footage, and security details.
• Walks extensively during patrols and sets up/removes tables, chairs, barriers, and cones as needed.
• Reads and interprets written rules and regulations to enforce safety and security of facilities; prioritizes work assignments.
