Job summary

The National Park Service seeks a Park Ranger (Interpretation) for Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park in Church Creek, Maryland. You will develop and present formal and informal interpretive programs, plan interpretive materials, and coordinate interpretive operations while ensuring safety policies are followed.

You will create content for social media and the park website, train fellow interpreters, and collaborate with partner organizations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Substitution of education for experience allowed; transcripts must include name, school, grades, credits, majors, GPA, and conferred date.
  • Unofficial transcripts acceptable but official transcripts required if education used to qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present a wide variety of interpretive programs (walks, talks, tours, presentations).
  • Plan and develop interpretive materials (signs, waysides, publications, exhibits).
  • Develop content for social media and park website.
  • Coordinate and direct interpretive operations and compile evaluation reports.
  • Train and mentor interpretive programs conducted by staff; assist in offsite programs and projects.
