Job summary

County of St. Clair is seeking a Parks Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of maintenance duties across park facilities and grounds. You will assist with visitor services, enforce rules, operate park equipment, and keep buildings and outdoor spaces clean and safe for patrons.

The role requires a high school diploma, about one year of relevant experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Availability includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, with occasional after-hour emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of responsible work experience.
• Available evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to use office equipment.
• Ability to follow procedures, solve problems and communicate effectively.
• Ability to perform maintenance tasks and operate park equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide visitor services, explain regulations, and answer questions.
• Enforce park operating rules and handle facility reservations.
• Operate park equipment (trucks, tractors, mowers, aerial lift) and perform grounds work.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of buildings and grounds.
• Assist with opening/closing facilities and manage records/reports.
• Administer basic first aid and follow emergency procedures.
• Work evenings, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime.
