Job summary

St. Clair County Parks and Recreation is seeking personnel to perform a variety of technical and maintenance duties to ensure a safe, pleasant environment for park patrons.

Responsibilities include providing visitor services, enforcing park rules, operating equipment, and maintaining buildings and grounds. The role requires high school graduation, availability evenings/weekends/holidays, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of responsible work experience.
• Must be available evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook; ability to research and problem solve; strong customer service.
• Must possess a valid State of Michigan operator license and CPR/First Aid/AED certification or complete within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide visitor services, explain regulations, answer requests, and give information about the park.
• Monitor activities, enforce park rules and facility reservations.
• Operate park equipment including trucks, tractors, mowers, aerial lift, and 2-ton stake truck.
• Perform grounds maintenance such as mowing, trimming, and debris removal.
