Job summary

Oregon Parks and Recreation Department seeks a Park Ranger 1 for Detroit Lake Management Unit. This permanent, full-time role covers protection, maintenance of lands and facilities, and operation of utility systems.

The position requires hands-on skills across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and landscape tasks, plus interpretation work and rule enforcement. Successful candidates will have two years of visitor services experience or an associate degree with six months of related

Qualifications

• Two years of visitor services experience (e.g. rule enforcement; interpretation and environmental awareness programs).
• AND/OR an Associate’s degree or higher in Park and Recreation Administration, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies and 6 months of visitor services experience; AND/OR maintenance experience (construction trades, landscaping).

Responsibilities

• Protect, maintain, and operate park lands, resources, facilities, and infrastructure.
• Perform hands-on maintenance in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and landscaping.
• Interpret resources and support utility system maintenance and park rules enforcement.
