The North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation is seeking a Park Ranger I (S) at South Mountains State Park in Connelly Springs, NC. The role involves education, resource management, law enforcement, and supervisory duties for seasonal staff, with a focus on safety and public service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation and/or Natural Science preferred.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience accepted.
• Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer or ability to achieve within one year.
• Successful physical and psychological examinations including drug testing.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a state vehicle.

Responsabilités

• Research park resources and develop resource management plans.
• Prepare and conduct environmental interpretation and education programming.
• Perform emergency medical response and rescue in parks.
• Assist with maintenance and operations of facilities.
• Issue facility permits and procure equipment; may supervise seasonal staff.
