Job summary

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is seeking a Maintenance Specialist III (Operations Ranger) to manage and perform complex facility, grounds, and equipment maintenance at Pedernales Falls State Park.

Under supervision, duties include preventative maintenance, operating vehicles and power tools, assisting visitors, issuing permits, handling revenue, and enforcing park rules. Requires high school diploma and 3 years of related experience; licenses and NWCG FFT2 preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.
• Must possess or obtain within one year a Non-Commercial Pesticide/Herbicide Applicator license.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex building maintenance and construction work.
• Operate trucks, tractors, mowers, power tools and other equipment.
• Provide information to park visitors and enforce park rules.
• Issue permits, collect revenue and assist in visitor registration.
• Work under supervision and follow TPWD safety procedures.
