Job summary

Office of State Parks (OSP) at Lake Claiborne State Park in Homer, LA seeks a supervisor to lead park staff in daily operations, maintenance, and programming while ensuring service excellence and fiscal responsibility.

The role involves managing facilities, coordinating major projects, liaising with law enforcement, and budgeting. Travel within the state may be required; a state vehicle is provided for on-duty use.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in the operation, administration, or maintenance of parks, outdoor recreation, or historic sites.
• OR Four years of experience in law enforcement, interpretive services, mobile equipment operation, building construction or maintenance.
• Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.
• Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of completed education and experience sections; applications must be complete.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the maintenance and care of site facilities.
• Approves and promotes site programming/events.
• Performs regularly scheduled park and playground inspections.
• Manages park facility expenditures.
• Coordinates major park maintenance or construction projects with Resource Development staff.
• Works with local law enforcement to control violence and vandalism.
• Collaborates with other departments and contractors on facilities.
