Job summary

The City of Greensboro, NC is seeking a Park Attendant for Keeley Park. The role involves supporting park operations, maintenance, and customer service to ensure safe, welcoming facilities for all visitors.

Position is roster-based, with 20-25 hours per week and up to 1000 hours per calendar year. A valid driver’s license and landscaping experience are required; the role offers hands-on experience through the Parks and Recreation Department.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License or reliable transportation.
• Landscaping experience.
• Experience with maintenance equipment such as blowers, weed-eaters, tractors, mowers, Kubota UTV, golf carts, hand tools, and pressure washers.

Responsibilities

• Developing, maintaining, and demonstrating an understanding of general park operations, facility maintenance, playground equipment inspections and maintenance
• Explain and enforce park rules; patrol park, athletic facilities and report suspicious activities to supervisory staff or law enforcement personnel
• Opening, monitoring, closing, and securing the park and facilities
• Providing excellent customer service
• Completing landscaping and grounds work tasks including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, blowing, litter removal, etc.
• Operating equipment and vehicles including, but not limited to, pick-ups, utility vehicles, large dump trucks, mowers, tractors, loaders, and more
• Performing custodial tasks as needed to keep the park and all facilities clean and welcoming for all users
• Inspect parks and facilities for repair needs; review maintenance needs with assigned supervisor
• Utilizing power tools such as backpack blowers, string trimmers, edgers, etc.
