Job summary

The New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation seeks a Park & Recreation Aide under supervision to perform general park and facility maintenance, customer service, and program support.

The role includes opening or closing shifts, maintaining a clean and safe environment, operation of mowers, blowers, line trimmers, interacting with patrons, patrolling grounds, and supporting park programming for events.

Responsibilities

• General park and facility maintenance, customer service, and program support.
• Opening or closing shift of park operations.
• Maintain park and facilities for cleanliness and safety including sanitizing facilities and removing trash.
• Train to use hand and power-driven equipment such as mowers, blowers, and line trimmers.
• Interact with patrons to answer questions and provide information and service.
• Patrol park grounds on foot or in a state vehicle to maintain safety and report conditions.
• Support park programming including staffing, setup and breakdown for events.
