Job summary

The City of Gainesville is seeking an on-site Parks aide to support daily operations at Northside Park and serve as a primary contact for park users. You will assist patrons, check out equipment, monitor park use, track participation, and report maintenance or safety concerns in an outdoor, non-climate-controlled setting.

Work may include evenings, weekends, and holidays with limited supervision. A high school diploma or GED and a Florida driver license are required, with relevant Red Cross

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience in recreation work.
• Valid Florida Driver License required within 30 days of appointment.
• American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certifications within 6 months of appointment.
• WSI/Lifeguard Instructor certification required for aquatic tracks within appointment.
• CYSA certification within one year of appointment for athletics track.

Responsibilities

• Assists in conducting activities.
• Distributes equipment for programs and events.
• Records attendance and participation for facility programs and events.
• Maintains order and discipline.
• Checks equipment for cleanliness and proper working order.
• Instructs participants in sewing, ceramics, arts and crafts, dancing, and games.
• Attends work on a continuous and regular basis.
