Job summary

Oregon Parks and Recreation Department seeks a permanent full-time Park Manager 3 to oversee a large, complex park management unit. You’ll supervise staff, manage budgets and revenue programs, and coordinate maintenance, interpretation and conservation across multiple properties.

Responsibilities include overseeing cultural resources, coordinating agreements, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and compliant work environment while partnering with associations and government entities.

Qualifications

  • Six years of progressively responsible experience as a Park Manager or equivalent natural resource manager.
  • Experience supervising paid and volunteer staff through subordinate managers.
  • Experience directing resource conservation, maintenance and visitor services activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise maintenance, operation and interpretation for all park properties within the unit.
  • Supervise implementation and operation of revenue programs.
  • Promote a harassment- and discrimination-free work environment; investigate complaints.

Your New RoleAs a ***permanent full-time Park Manager 3***, you will oversee the full scope of park operations. This includes long‐ and short‐range planning; supervising paid and volunteer staff through subordinate managers; and directing resource conservation, maintenance, and visitor services activities. You will manage one of OPRD’s larger and more complex park management units, characterized by a combination of high Maintenance Management Plan hours, sophisticated facilities and infrastructure, numerous properties and staff positions, substantial budgets and revenue, and significant day-use and overnight visitation.
