THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform light and heavy manual labor work in the maintenance of state park operations and outdoor recreation within Cowans Gap State Park Complex State Park. You will work independently, assist skilled trades workers, and function as a lead worker with manual work crews completing routine tasks. You will also use a variety of construction, grounds keeping, and maintenance equipment. This role requires performing minor repairs, routine grounds keeping, and custodial duties with considerable self-direction combined with the ability to review completed work. In addition, you will operate a two-way radio and assist park visitors and distribute information in a friendly helpful manner.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Seasonal full-time employment
• Work hours are varying shifts dependent on the time of year in a 7-day per week operation, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work weekends, holidays, and evening shifts.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction;or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
