Job summary

State of Louisiana is seeking a Maintenance Repairer at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield to perform facilities and grounds maintenance, repair buildings, and operate equipment. The role requires ensuring safety for guests and staff and may involve mowing, pressure washing, and trail maintenance.

Work includes routine preventative maintenance, operating heavy equipment, and assisting custodial tasks to keep facilities clean and functional.

Qualifications

One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Responsibilities

Make general repairs to buildings, interiors, exteriors, furniture, fixtures, air conditioners, heating systems, and other mechanical fields.
Maintain and repair motorized equipment including tune-ups and part replacement.
Operate and check safety of a wide variety of hand held equipment and vehicles.
Repair and treat structures such as floors, walls, roofs, and related surfaces.
Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust locks on doors and cabinets.
