Job summary

Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission’s Olympic View Area in Marrowstone Island is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic 1 to perform general maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction duties across park facilities and equipment. This position requires working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, painting, and machinist work.

Based at Fort Flagler State Park, the duty station covers seven park properties; the role is not eligible for telework and expects a hands-on,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two (2) years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.
• Valid unrestricted (except corrective lenses) driver's license.
• CPR certification within first six (6) months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs general work in maintenance, repair, remodel, and alteration in construction and maintenance of area facilities, ground, vehicles, and equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance to park buildings and other park facilities.
• Maintains and repairs plumbing, and sewage systems with the ability to provide minor electrical repairs.
• Coordinates with management, other employees, volunteers, and correctional crews during maintenance and repair projects.
