Job summary

City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking a Parks Maintenance Supervisor to lead a small crew in maintaining city parks and facilities. The incumbent will supervise approximately three employees, train staff, and plan weekly work priorities while ensuring safety and compliance with city policies.

Responsibilities include operating park equipment, coordinating park needs, reporting hazards, and performing general maintenance as needed. Overtime may be required for special events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; related training and/or college courses; 2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises about three employees, trains staff, plans work, assigns and directs tasks; evaluates performance; rewards and disciplines as needed.
• Establishes priorities for the workweek and sequence of projects to ensure timely completion.
• Operates equipment including riding mowers, push mowers, weed trimmers, chain saws, and other tools; also operates front end loaders, tractors, four wheelers, Gators.
• Coordinates the needs of parks and equipment and reports vandalism or hazards to the supervisor.
• Keeps park facilities clean, stocked with supplies, and performs other related duties as required.
• Oversees daily activities of work crews to provide direction and ensure project completion; makes safety-conscious decisions.
