Job summary

Bend Park and Recreation District is seeking a Park Technician to lead irrigation, turf and horticulture initiatives across parks, fields and trails. You will design, install, and maintain systems while guiding staff and volunteers on projects.

The role focuses on water management, system troubleshooting, and ensuring safe operation of equipment with a strong emphasis on district-wide maintenance and improvement programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; prefer two years of trade or technical school in landscape or irrigation; AND
• Four (4) years of experience in irrigation technology, landscape horticulture design, field layout, forest management, or arboriculture; OR
• Any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops specifications for irrigation and drainage systems.
• Installs, troubleshoots, inspects, audits and repairs irrigation and drainage systems.
• Maintains irrigation and drainage systems and operates equipment.
• Coordinates with contractors and leads field projects.
• Promotes safe conditions and trains staff and volunteers.
