Job description

Salary: $16.02/hr. minimum - $22.50/hr. max (Depending on qualifications)

To make minor and major repairs to a variety of park irrigation systems; be available for routine repairs to playground equipment, athletic lighting facilities, picnic facilities, and other related equipment; to perform preventive maintenance on park equipment; and to perform various other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION

General supervision is provided by the District Park Supervisor.

1. All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior as outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
2. Participate in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing of irrigation systems and occasional repairs to playground equipment, athletic lighting, picnic facilities, drinking fountains and other park equipment as required.
3. Maintain the park irrigation systems; set irrigation clocks and controls; perform minor repairs including replacing broken heads and repairing minor breaks in the water lines; assist with major irrigation repairs as necessary.
4. Participate in routine welding, fabricating, and assembly of parts and equipment for a variety of park equipment.
5. Remain on-call to respond to emergency situations requiring mechanical repairs to a variety of park equipment or other related problems.
6. Drive to and from destinations as assigned by Supervisor.

EDUCATION

Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

EXPERIENCE

Two years experience in one or more of the building maintenance trades, with experience in park-related irrigation maintenance and repair preferred.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Possession of a valid driver's license.

State of Texas Irrigation License is preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Monday - Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; required overtime and weekend as needed.
