Job summary

Bend Park and Recreation District is seeking a Park Technician to lead irrigation, horticulture and turfgrass work across parks, fields and trails. The role supports a Park Services Supervisor and handles projects, designs, installations and system management.

Duties include coordinating with contractors, maintaining water systems, training staff, and ensuring safety. Requires strong knowledge in landscape maintenance and plant care.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of horticulture, arboriculture, turf grass management and landscape maintenance.
• Experience with installation, operation and troubleshooting of irrigation systems.
• Proficient in safety procedures and operation of park maintenance equipment.
• Ability to train staff and volunteers; supervisory capabilities.
• Familiarity with basic computer tools and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops irrigation and drainage system specifications.
• Installs, troubleshoots, inspects and repairs irrigation systems.
• Maintains irrigation systems and coordinates with contractors.
• Operates and transports maintenance equipment.
• Gathers materials, orders supplies and tracks expenditures.
• Promotes safe conditions and may lead projects.
