County of Hawai'i in Hilo seeks a Parks Interpreter to provide accurate interpretive information about the area’s natural, cultural, and historical features. You will coordinate community cultural activities and events, and educate park visitors with brochures and talks to enrich their experience.

The role requires guiding visitors, answering questions, and working with government and community partners to ensure safe, respectful park usage.

Qualifications

• Graduate from high school.
• Three years of experience developing and coordinating recreational or educational group activities.
• One year coordinating cultural activities with government or community organizations.

Responsabilités

• Provide interpretive information to park users about natural, cultural, historical, and archaeological features.
• Coordinate cultural activities, programs, and events with community groups and organizations.
• Educate users by answering questions and distributing informational brochures.
• Provide safety information about conditions and hazards in park areas.
• Receive and respond to routine complaints and direct traffic or issue warnings as needed.
• Prepare operational reports and assist in evaluating park programs and user interests.
