Job summary

The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism seeks a Park Housekeeper Supervisor/Expert to oversee housekeeping operations across state park facilities. You will manage lodges, cabins, visitor centers, restrooms, and other areas to ensure top cleanliness and presentation, supervising staff and coordinating schedules.

Responsibilities include staff leadership, safety compliance, inventory management, and collaboration with maintenance teams to address repairs and sanitation needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of housekeeping or custodial experience, with at least 6 months in a leadership role.
• Promotion to higher classification is discretionary based on skills, performance, workload and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and supervise housekeeping staff to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Assign daily cleaning schedules and ensure efficient workflow and task completion.
• Inspect lodges, cabins, restrooms, and public areas for cleanliness and maintenance needs.
• Supervise staff by hiring/firing, assigning work, and evaluating performance.
• Address guest concerns related to cleanliness or housekeeping issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to report needed repairs.
• Maintain stock of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensure proper chemical handling.
• Develop and enforce cleaning standards and procedures for consistency.
• Train staff to engage with guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
