Job summary

U.S. Department of the Interior's Cuyahoga Valley National Park is seeking a Student Trainee (Park Guide) to join the Interpretation, Education, and Visitor Services Division. This temporary Pathways internship may extend each year, based on eligibility and funding, with duties evolving from GS-04 to GS-05 levels.

The role involves presenting talks, interpreting park values, and assisting visitors with a wide range of information and services in varying weather conditions, indoors and outdoors.

Qualifications

• Must be an eligible student participating in the Pathways Internship program.
• Ability to present information clearly to diverse visitors.
• Comfort with standing/walking and indoor/outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Present pre-established talks and interpret exhibits for park visitors.
• Provide information on park activities, services, and themes.
• Assist visitors with needs (lost items, weather, directions) and respond to inquiries.
• Guide groups of visitors and adapt presentations by group size and interests.
