Job summary

City of Winder is seeking a part-time Grounds Maintenance Technician for Legacy Park. The role involves hands-on outdoor duties, operating equipment, and assisting with park upkeep to keep facilities safe and welcoming.

Ideal candidates will have a valid Georgia driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Starting salary is $18.17 per hour for a part-time position.

Qualifications

• Valid Georgia Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 19.
• U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work.
• Ability to pass a detailed background investigation.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Mowing and landscaping across Legacy Park and public areas.
• Maintaining trails and green spaces.
• Repairing playground equipment and related structures.
• Supporting emergency operations when needed.
• Operating light and heavy equipment (mowers, tractors, weed eaters, blowers).
• Installing and maintaining irrigation systems.
• Applying herbicides and pesticides as needed.
• Repairing fences, sidewalks, and playground equipment.
• Installing landscapes, pruning trees and shrubs, and laying sod.
• Removing litter and debris from parks and City buildings.
• Pouring concrete and general grounds upkeep.
• Responding to on-call or emergency situations outside normal hours.
