Job summary

The City of Winder is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician I to join our outdoor operations team. This full-time role maintains parks, facilities, and rights-of-way, using mowers, irrigation systems, and tools to keep spaces welcoming for residents.

You'll work outdoors in varying weather, perform heavy and light equipment tasks, and respond to emergencies when needed. A valid Georgia driver's license and high school diploma are required, with availability for evenings, weekends, and

Qualifications

• Knowledge of grounds maintenance practices.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and light/heavy equipment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to safely operate assigned vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate light and heavy equipment such as commercial mowers, tractors, weed eaters, and blowers.
• Install and maintain irrigation systems.
• Apply herbicides and pesticides as needed.
• Repair fences, sidewalks, and playground equipment.
• Install landscapes, prune trees and shrubs, and lay sod.
