Job summary

Fairfax County Park Authority seeks a skilled laborer to maintain turf and equipment across multiple park facilities. You will operate various mowers, trucks, and trailers, perform routine maintenance, and assist with training staff in safe operation of equipment.

The role requires the ability to work weekends/overtime as needed, and to follow safety guidelines while maintaining high-quality outdoor maintenance standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of the tenth grade.
• Two years of experience operating light motorized equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain required licenses within timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks and small trailers for loading, unloading, and transport of equipment.
• Perform maintenance on medium/small equipment and vehicles (fuel, water, oil, air; brakes; cleaning).
• Follow safety procedures; wear PPE and maintain safe working conditions.
• May lead a small crew of laborers and coordinate with supervisors.
• Communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, and customers.
