City of St. George seeks a part-time staff member to assist in developing and managing park/leisure programs and events under the supervision of the Parks or Recreation Supervisor. Responsibilities include training staff, overseeing safety, and coordinating facility operations.
The role requires working weekends/evenings, with seasonal hours, and involves money handling, customer service, and light supervision of volunteers and part-time staff.
Under the direction of a City of St. George Leisure Services Parks or Recreation Supervisor, assists in developing and managing various programs, events, and/or facility daily operations; assists with the development, interpretation, training, and enforcement of recreation policies and practices; provides suggestions to improve the overall execution of the facility and/or facility programs; and helps develop short-range goals and plans.

Conditions vary depending on the assignment. May work both indoor and outdoor during facility hours in varied temperatures and weather conditions. Requires the use of vision and/or hearing to identify and evaluate emergencies and must be able to respond to these emergencies quickly and appropriately. Moderately heavy physical activity exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently. Moderate exposure to stress as a result of human behavior.
Note: Must be available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and other schedules to accommodate the seasonal operation schedule. This is a part-time position with variable hours averaging less than 28 hours per week over a period of twelve months.

Preference given to those with education in recreation or a related field.
Recreation and supervisory related experience preferred.
Experience working with money handling is preferred.
Customer service experience preferred
Must possess a valid driver license. A valid Utah Driver License must be obtained within 60 days of hire and be maintained throughout employment. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications must be obtained within sixty (60) days of hire and be maintained throughout employment.
