Job summary

Santa Cruz Catholic Church seeks a Director of Accounting to oversee accounting operations for both the parish and school, including the general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, reconcilations, donations, and budgeting.

The role reports to the Pastor and requires strong nonprofit accounting skills, supervisory capability, and adherence to diocesan policies. Clergy, staff, and volunteers rely on precise financial management and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited American university.
• Five (5) or more years of related accounting experience; nonprofit or fund accounting preferred.
• Experience supervising staff is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead parish and school accounting across general ledger, AR, AP, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Prepare budgets, forecast, and financial reporting for Finance Council and Diocese.
• Oversee payroll, 403(b) contributions, and health insurance for parish and school employees.
• Ensure donor contributions post correctly to donor management system and issue year-end statements.
