Job summary

St. Peter Parish & School is seeking a dependable Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for parishioners, students, staff, and visitors across church and school facilities.

The role covers routine custodial tasks, building maintenance, and facility monitoring with duties in classrooms, halls, kitchens, restrooms, and common areas. The position is part-time with hours to be determined.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial, maintenance, facilities, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Strong reliability, organization, and attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop stairways and designated floor areas.
• Clean and inspect restrooms and fixtures.
• Monitor playground areas for debris, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Maintain custodial equipment and supplies.
• Inspect building systems and report maintenance concerns.
• Shovel snow in designated entrances and walkways.
• Coordinate waste removal services when needed.
