Position Summary: The Parish Life Coordinator Coordinator provides leadership, planning, and management
for parish events and is responsible for implementing and coordinating a comprehensive calendar of events
that support the liturgical life of the parish. This position oversees events and activities connected to the
liturgical calendar and initiatives that welcome and engage new families within the community. The role
collaborates closely with parish staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers to ensure that events foster fellowship,
evangelization, and participation in the mission of the parish. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance
with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the specific mission of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and
Academy. The Event Coordinator reports directly to the Parish Manager.
- Develop, maintain, and execute an annual parish events calendar that reflects and supports the
liturgical seasons and celebrations of the Church year, including Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter,
Ordinary Time, feast days, and parish patronal celebrations. - Coordinate and oversee all parish events associated with the liturgical calendar, ensuring they align
with the mission and traditions of the Catholic Church and the vision of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. - Assist in planning and managing events related to sacred music, including concerts, recitals,
workshops, guest musicians, retreats, and special liturgical celebrations. - Coordinate parish fellowship and community-building events, including receptions, educational
gatherings, ministry fairs, and celebrations that strengthen parish life. - Develop and coordinate hospitality and welcome initiatives for new parishioners and new families,
fostering opportunities for engagement and integration into parish life. - Collaborate with the Pastor, Headmaster, parish staff, ministry leaders, musicians, and volunteers to
plan and implement parish events and activities. - Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers necessary for the successful execution of parish
events. - Serve as the primary liaison between parish ministries, committees, vendors, and outside
organizations involved in parish events. - Develop event timelines, budgets, logistics plans, and operational procedures for
- all assigned events.
- Coordinate facility reservations and event scheduling to ensure effective use of parish and academy
spaces. - Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring hospitality, safety, and attention to detail
throughout each event. - Coordinate contracts, catering, rentals, decorations, audiovisual needs, and other event-related
services as required. - Work collaboratively with parish communications staff to promote events through bulletins, social
media, the parish website, email communications, and printed materials. - Monitor event expenditures and operate within approved budgets while identifying opportunities for
sponsorships or cost savings when appropriate. - Evaluate events through attendance data, participant feedback, and post-event reviews to improve
future programming. - Maintain accurate records of event schedules, vendors, volunteers, budgets, and attendance.
- Ensure that all events comply with diocesan policies, parish policies, and applicable safety regulations.
- Foster an atmosphere of hospitality, evangelization, beauty, and reverence through all parish events
and gatherings. - Responsible for updating the website with event information, social media, and related hubs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Parish Manager in support of the mission of the parish.
Qualifications:
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, Marketing, Theology,
Music, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. - Minimum of two to three years of experience in event planning, program coordination, hospitality
management, ministry leadership, or a related field preferred. - Experience working within a Catholic parish, school, nonprofit organization, or ministry
environment is strongly preferred. - Experience coordinating volunteers and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Conducts all responsibilities in a manner consistent with Catholic teaching and the mission of
evangelization. - Demonstrates a spirit of hospitality, service, professionalism, and Christian witness in all interactions.
- Meet with the parish manager as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Suggested 25 hours per week. Subject to ebb and flow based on rhythms of events.
