Qualifications

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
• Accounting, bookkeeping or business-related coursework preferred.
• Two or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit, church, or religious organization desirable.
• Experience with QuickBooks and computerized financial systems required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and complete financial records for parish operations.
• Record income, expenses, deposits, and other financial transactions in the parish accounting system.
• Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts; ensure proper documentation and coding.
• Prepare checks or electronic payments; maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies.
• Record parish income, deposits, and assist with tracking income for ministries.
• Record and reconcile offertory collections and prepare charitable contribution statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements; investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related recordkeeping.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budget and diocesan reporting.
