Job summary

Divine Mercy Parish in Quincy, MA is hiring a full-time Head Custodian to keep the churches, rectory and grounds clean, safe and welcoming. The role covers daily cleaning, event setup, basic repairs, and monitoring building conditions to support worship and community activities.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2–5 years in custodial or facilities work, and a service-oriented mindset with attention to detail. Flexibility for occasional weekends and on-call shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2–5 years of custodial or building operations experience preferred.
• General knowledge of cleaning methods and basic repairs.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Prior church or religious facility experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare churches and rooms for services and events.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, rooms, walkways and common areas.
• Perform room set-ups for meetings and events.
• Monitor and report maintenance issues; coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Assist with building security and access control.
• Seasonal grounds care; coordinate snow removal; respond to on-call needs.
