Job summary

Our Lady of Light Parish in Fort Myers, FL seeks a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to maintain parish facilities and grounds, supervise maintenance staff, and coordinate approved vendors. The role reports to the Business Manager and/or Pastor and operates on a schedule that may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification preferred.
• Practical experience in building maintenance; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance assistant(s) and coordinate assignments within staffing and hours.
• Perform repairs and maintenance; arrange qualified contractors for specialized work.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for buildings, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
• Oversee cleaning, trash removal, and custodial tasks as needed.
• Open/close facilities, check doors, operate lights/alarms, coordinate coverage.
• Coordinate access and room readiness for activities; review calendars/work requests.
• Assist with event setups, memorial arrangements, and garden preparation.
• Oversee grounds, gardens, kitchen, and rectory upkeep; address hazards.
• Obtain estimates, coordinate vendors, and verify work per procedures.
• Maintain work orders, service records, and inventories; assist budgeting/repair planning.
• Coordinate safety inspections and corrective work; report hazards.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and hurricane prep/recovery.
• Keep Business Manager informed of priorities and staffing needs.
• Other related duties as assigned.
