Job summary

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is seeking a Communications Coordinator to develop and coordinate print and digital communications for the parish, including the weekly bulletin, website, social media, and promotional materials.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong organizational and design skills, able to manage multiple projects in a collaborative parish environment and support parish life and events with clear, timely messaging.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic in good standing and able to support Church mission.
• Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with clergy, staff, volunteers, and diocesan contacts.
• Experience with communications, marketing, public relations, graphic design, social media, or related area.
• Strong visual and creative skills for print and digital communications.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Desire to learn new communications platforms and technology as needed.
• Some college coursework or degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate communications and promotional efforts for parish ministries, programs, events, and activities.
• Serve as the primary editor and coordinator of the weekly parish bulletin, gathering information from staff, ministry leaders, school, and diocesan contacts.
• Write, edit, proofread, and format communications for accuracy and audience suitability.
• Create flyers, posters, brochures, signage, digital graphics, and other promotional materials.
• Coordinate preparation of materials and displays for parish news and events throughout the church and parish centers.
• Maintain parish website, ensuring information is current, engaging, and easy to navigate.
• Prepare, schedule, and distribute parish communications through Flocknote.
• Create and publish content for parish social media channels (Facebook, Instagram).
• Coordinate livestreaming and posting of Masses and events to digital channels (YouTube) as requested.
• Provide front office coverage and support for baptisms, weddings, funerals, and other parish initiatives.
