Job summary

Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton, Texas, is seeking a bookkeeper to manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and monthly closings for the parish and its auxiliary entities.

The role reports to the Director of Parish Operations and requires a bachelor’s in accounting, two years of relevant experience, a CPA, and a Texas driver’s license. A practicing Catholic in good standing is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or closely related field from an accredited American university.
• Minimum of two years' full-time wage-earning accounting experience.
• CPA certification and a valid Texas driver’s license are required.
• Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Process and record all Parish receipts, disbursements, and payroll.
• Maintain bank reconciliations and financial files for vendors, payroll, timekeeping, and HR.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for Parish and auxiliaries.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and monitor adherence.
• Support audits and provide financial analyses to Pastor and Finance Council.
• Attend finance council meetings when requested.
