Job summary

St. Raphael Parish in Englewood, FL is seeking a Parish Accountant for part-time hours (15 per week). The role supports the Pastor and Finance Council in all finance-related matters and requires strong QuickBooks skills and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate has an accounting or business degree and excellent communication and organizational abilities. Responsibilities include timekeeping oversight, budget support, invoicing, bank reconciliations, and preparation of an annual income statement

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
• In-depth knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Must pass Diocesan Accounting/QuickBooks test.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all timekeeping is properly approved and submitted on a bi-weekly basis.
• Supports the Pastor regarding the parish budget.
• Records deposit into QuickBooks and reconciles bank statement monthly.
• Enters all approved invoices and process all payments on a timely basis.
• Interacts with Diocesan Human Resources Department and Internal Finance Department; attends all meetings as requested.
• Schedules, prepare, and attends quarterly Finance Council Meetings
• Prepares Annual Income Statement for the bulletin.
• Assists in answering phones, etc.
• Records weekly parishioner contributions
• Maintain filing systems both hard copy and electronic.
• Maintain any records or lists required by the parish.
• Any other duties as assigned

Overview
