Job summary

Catholic Community Services, Family Behavioral Health is expanding services in the Portland metro area. We are seeking a Peer Counselor (Parent Partner) with lived parent experience to join our team and support youth and families in community settings.

The role offers extensive training, daily supervision, and opportunities to earn additional pay for language proficiency and performance. Starting pay is $26.19–$27.76 per hour with benefits including holidays, vacation, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Must have personal lived experience as a parent of a child who has received community/mental health services.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is highly desired.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-judgmental, unconditional support to families and youth.
• Tailor helping approaches to fit each family’s culture and needs.
• Dialog with referred parents and share personal parenting experiences to build trust.
• Help families agree on activities contributing to healing and communicate them to the team.
• Review team plans and suggest improvements to enhance parent participation.
• Support progress tracking toward vision and goals and solicit parental feedback.
