Job summary

Alma Family Services is looking for a peer support provider in Huntington Park, CA, to assist families engaged in our program. Responsibilities include helping parents navigate challenges and improving engagement with the staff.

The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED and experience as a caregiver, as well as being bilingual in English and Spanish. Compensation ranges from $22 to $25 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience as a caregiver of a child with complex needs.
• Must have reliable transportation and valid CA driver’s license.
• Able to work evening and/or weekend hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide peer support to parents and assist them to successfully engage with the program and staff. Support families who have a child(ren) at high risk of being placed out of home. Assist families by helping the parents and/or caregivers identify their needs, role model new strategies, and do ‘whatever it takes’ to promote their success.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. A parent with a child(ren) previously involved in the LA County Department of Children and Family Services, Probation, or Mental Health and have experience as a caregiver of a child with complex needs. Familiarity with LA County DMH preferred. Computer literate. Bilingual English/Spanish required. Able to work evening and/or weekend hours as needed. Must have reliable transportation, valid CA driver’s license, an acceptable driving record and proof of current auto insurance.

Salary

$22 - $25/hour
