Job summary

Premier Swim Academy seeks an energetic early childhood development professional to teach Parent and Me swim lessons for children aged 4 months to 36 months. You’ll blend early education milestones with water activities, following our curriculum, in a fun and educational environment.

The role emphasizes safety on deck, clear parent communication, and providing exceptional customer service while maintaining program cleanliness.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in child development or related education fields.
  • 4+ years of working with children aged 0–3 years.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a StarGuard Elite Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging Parent and Me classes: teach swim lessons designed for infants and toddlers, combining early education and child development milestones with fun, interactive water activities.
  • Ensure safety first: supervise and safeguard all participants during group and private lessons and on the pool deck, making sure everyone follows safety rules so learning and education remain fun and safe.
  • Communicate like a pro: share important updates with your supervisor quickly and clearly, and maintain open, positive communication with parents, offering feedback on their child’s progress and education journey.
  • Be a customer‑service champion: keep families happy by providing excellent service, answering questions, and creating a welcoming atmosphere where both parents and children feel supported in their educational experience.
  • Keep things tidy: help maintain the cleanliness and order of the swim programs to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Support your team: build great relationships with fellow employees and instructors, working together to meet Premier’s education goals.
  • Stay sharp: attend quarterly in‑service training programs to enhance your skills and continue your own education as an instructor.

Job description

Compensation

$20.00 - $23.00/hour

Year‑round, Part‑time, Hourly. This role flexes between 1.5 hr–10 hr/week based on seasonal demand. Minimum availability needed: Saturdays 9:00 am–11:30 pm consistently.

Our Parent and Me program helps children ages 4 months to 36 months hit important developmental milestones while learning to swim. Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in child development or related education fields.
  • 4+ years of working with children aged 0–3 years.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a StarGuard Elite Basic Life Support certification.
  • Available on Saturdays 8:40 am–12:15 pm.
Bonus Points If You Have
  • Experience working with children with disabilities or adaptive learning needs.
  • Previous aquatics or instructor experience.
  • A degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Child Psychology.
  • Additional availability in spring & summer.
  • StarGuard Elite Lifeguard certification.
Physical Requirements

Be ready to teach for up to 15 hours a week and interact with children. Occasionally, you may need to lift a child or swim lesson equipment (up to 50 pounds). The pool you will be working at is outdoors and heated to 85 degrees year‑round. Swim programs run rain or shine – but it’s always fun!
