Job summary

People Incorporated of Virginia is seeking a First Steps Parent Educator to provide in-home support for pregnant women and families with young children in Bristol and Lebanon, VA. The role uses Parents as Teachers curriculum to educate on child development, safety, and parenting, with transportation assistance as needed.

A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Services is preferred. Work hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, in Bristol and Lebanon offices.

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of First Steps Parent Educator in our Bristol and Lebanon Virginia offices. This position will provide in-home services to pregnant women and families that have Medicaid‑eligible children up to the age of 6. Services include screenings, goal setting, linkage to appropriate agencies and resources to meet family needs, education to parents on child development, safety and parenting using the Parents as Teachers curriculum, and assistance with transportation when needed. A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Services is preferred.
