Job summary

Northumberland County Children and Youth Services is seeking a Social Services Aide 2 to support the Parent Education Program in Sunbury, PA. You will provide parent education in home and center settings, assist in organizing groups, and coordinate with therapists and community resources.

The role includes case record maintenance, training participation, and occasional transportation support for families. A PA driver’s license is required and flexibility for varying schedules may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum education/experience as described in METs.
• One year as County Social Services Aide 1 OR equivalent education/experience.
• Residency in Pennsylvania and civil service eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing parent education services at Parent Center sites or in the home.
• Facilitate group activities for parents, adolescents, and children.
• Prepare daily activities including parenting skills, group therapy, budgeting, self-esteem.
• Organize and support parents in groups for concrete services.
• Interface with therapists and participate in therapy groups.
• Maintain client case records and participate in required trainings.
• Assist with day care arrangements and transportation as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to progress reports and goals.
