Job summary

Qualifications

• One year as a County Social Services Aide 1; or
• Graduation from high school or its equivalency plus two years of public contact work in a human services agency
• An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants may be within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide parent education in center-based and in-home settings
• Assist with planning and carrying out individual and group activities for families
• Organize parents into groups to support each other
• Engage with therapists in group sessions and participate in discussions
• Maintain detailed case records tracking client progress
• Refer parents to community services and coordinate needed supports
