Job summary

City of De Pere is seeking enthusiastic Parent Child Aquatics Instructors to teach young children with a parent or guardian. You will implement standard lesson plans, adjust to class needs, manage the classroom, and communicate with guardians while keeping participants safe with lifeguard support.

Responsibilities include organizing games, leading parents in songs, and delivering sessions with energy and enthusiasm to help children reach milestones.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach a variety of skill levels.
• Ability to communicate and work well with the public.
• Ability to instruct parents and young children.
• Energy, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness.
• Understanding of basic swimming techniques.
• At least 16 years of age, preferably 18+.
• Lifeguard CPR certification or CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
• Experience in swim lesson instruction or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Teach participants age 0–3 years with a parent or guardian using standard lesson plans.
• Adjust activities to individual class needs and manage the classroom.
• Communicate with participants and guardians to ensure safety.
• Organize games and lead parents in related songs for engagement.
• Maintain safety with lifeguard support and enthusiastic delivery.
