Job summary

DHL eCommerce in Kansas City, MO, is seeking an Operations Supervisor to manage the handling of mail and small parcels in the Distribution Center, ensuring processes meet customer and internal requirements safely and efficiently.

You will lead staffing, supervise staff, monitor KPI and quality reports, and drive improvements to production methods while maintaining cost and quality efficiencies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Understanding of Small Parcel Logistics.
• Knowledge of operations quality and safety programs.
• Experience with process improvement tools such as 5S.
• Experience supervising and driving production standards and automation utilization.

Responsibilities

• Assign work, set completion dates, review work, and manage performance in accordance with policies.
• Supervise employees, mail/small parcel processing, quality process, and transportation to optimize quality and profitability.
• Establish teamwork and empowerment, fairness, and consistency across shifts.
• Ensure proper staffing by department and shift; monitor attendance and time management.
• Conduct performance reviews, coach and train direct employees.
• Monitor equipment and ensure production standards are met.
• Support Distribution Center plans with timely and accurate fulfillment and cost/quality control.
• Review KPI and quality reports and take corrective actions as needed.
• Recommend methods to improve production and safety measures.
• Oversee safety activities and trainings per policy and regulatory changes.
• Assist HR in recruitment and interviewing of new hires.
