City of Davis is seeking a Paratransit Vehicle Driver (CSS IV) for a temporary part-time role. The position requires driving an 8-passenger paratransit bus, adhering to schedules and dispatcher directions, and assisting customers safely.
Applicants must have a Class C California Driver's License, be at least 18, and provide a DMV printout. A background with minimal points and no recent violations is required, along with pre-employment drug testing.
Hours: Approximately 20 Hours Per Week; hours may vary as required by service
Wages: $18.28 - $20.17 per hour (increased based on experience)
Status: Temporary Part Time
Minimum Requirement: Current Class C License in good standing
The service operates 365 days a year; availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a mandatory requirement. Knowledge of safe driving procedures and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people are key components of this position.
This is an active position requiring the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk up and down stairs, lift and/or move objects up to 20lbs, perform simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, and equipment securement; verbal and hearing skills to effectively communicate with customers and other staff, and make observations.
Work is done both indoors and out, with exposure to various weather conditions. COVID precautions and an appropriate face covering must be worn while transporting customers.
