Job summary

First Student in the United States is seeking a Fueler/Utility Worker to support daily paratransit operations. You will fuel vehicles, check fluid levels, and maintain accurate fuel records to keep fleets running safely and on time.

This hands-on, outdoor role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work in varying weather. You’ll also perform basic vehicle inspections, assist with yard and facilities maintenance, and help ensure a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail when completing logs, reports, and inspections.
• Ability to communicate professionally with drivers, managers, maintenance staff, and operations team members.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays based on business needs.
• Ability to follow safety procedures around fuel, fluids, vehicles, and spill containment.

Responsibilities

• Fuel paratransit vehicles and record readings.
• Inspect vehicles and maintain fuel records.
• Keep yard and fuel island clean and safe.
• Assist with light building and grounds maintenance.
• Complete daily tasks as assigned by management.
• Open gates and prepare parking lot and fuel island for daily operations.
