Job summary

The Regional Transportation Agency of Central Maryland is seeking a Bus Operator - Paratransit (Non-CDL) to provide reliable shared ride services for seniors and individuals with disabilities in the Annapolis area.

Responsibilities include safe operation of buses, pre/post trip inspections, and assisting passengers with mobility devices. You will work a mix of day, evening, and weekend hours, with strong attention to customer service and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• At least one year of previous driving experience.
• Must have a valid Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Must satisfactorily complete all required training.

Responsibilities

• Drives transit buses or non-revenue vehicles safely in the contracted service area.
• Reads route sheets and maps and adheres to daily time schedules.
• Performs pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required.
• Assists passengers, including those with mobility aids, and secures wheelchairs when needed.
• Reports deviations, incidents, or mechanical issues to dispatch.
• Operates fare boxes and tablets and conveys rules and information to passengers.
• Completes written reports about passengers and incidents as required.
• Communicates with dispatch via two-way radio and PA system.
• Works shift hours as assigned.
