Job summary

Antech Diagnostics is hiring a Parasitology Laboratory Aide to support the collection, processing, and preparation of fecal samples in a busy diagnostic lab setting.

The role follows standard procedures with opportunities to learn across parasitology tasks and participate in maintaining quality and safety standards. Work hours are 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays. Pay is $16.78 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect fecal specimens and prepare for setup.
• Meet department requirements for loads and setup rates.
• Label processing tubes and maintain storage areas.
• Split specimens for Giardia ELISA when required.
• Print and reconcile queue lists; ensure inventory and equipment readiness.
• Follow SOPs and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Job Purpose/Overview

The Parasitology LaboratoryAideis responsible forthe collection,processing and preparing of fecal samples.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. • Collect fecal specimens from login, scan into loads, and prepare for set up.
• Meet allminimumdepartment requirements for para loadsandFcomboset-up rates.
• Accurately building loads and label processing tubes
• Split specimens for Giardia ELISA whenrequired
• Find missing specimens. Print and reconcile queue list
• Maintain organization of storage refrigerator
• Maintain all equipment including hoods, centrifuges, etc.
• Awareness of quality control and calibration
• Crosstrainanddevelop knowledge of multiple specialties within department/lab.
• Follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed
• Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
• Consult with senior peers on non-complex Parasitology tasks to learn through experience.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
