Job summary

Lorain City Schools in Lorain, Ohio seeks a highly-qualified paraprofessional to support students in the Office of Exceptional Children. The role is based on a Monday–Friday schedule, 6.75 hours per day, 189 days per year, with an hourly rate of $18.75 for the 2026/27 school year.

Applicants must meet ESSA/Ohio criteria: an Associate degree or 48 college credits, or a ParaPro score of 456+, and must obtain an Educational Aid Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.

Required Certification(s)

• must be a highly-qualified paraprofessional under the provisions of ESSA and ORC 3319.074 by evidencing one of the following requirements:
• Associate of Arts Degree or higher (official transcripts required); OR
• two years of college totaling 48 or more semester hours (official transcripts required); OR
• passing score of 456 or higher on the ParaPro Assessment (copy of ParaPro Assessment results).
• AND must have or be able to obtain an Educational Aid Permit through the Ohio Department of Education
