Job summary

Martinsville City Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for an 185-day, 10-month position. You will assist in a classroom setting under the supervision of a licensed teacher, supporting students with disabilities and helping implement instructional plans.

Ideal candidates will meet federal criteria (associate degree, 48 college credits, or ParaPro) and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork. Drug, alcohol, and background checks are required.

Must meet federal criteria to be highly qualified by having completed at least one of the following:

• Hold an associate's degree from an accredited college
• Completed two years of college coursework (minimum of 48 credit hours)
• Passed the ParaPro assessment

Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and community members
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and spreadsheets
• Previous experience working with students preferred
